Pose for the camera now…. click…. click…...pose for the camera now…. click…. click! Now that Queen Bee has helped me get your mental theme music together, let’s get to it. That’s right my engaged ladies, the question is popped, the venue is set, let’s get photo shoot ready!!
Engagement photo shoots can take on any theme from traditional to modern and everything in between. What story do you want your engagement photos to tell? My fiancé and I have known each other since high school. Funny enough he actually introduced me to my first boyfriend. Back then I called him a cool nerd and even today my better half won’t let me forget it LOL!!! So that is the story we wanted to tell.
If you weren’t able to guess it, we took on a “Family Matters” theme and gave our versions of Steve Urkel and Laura Winslow. This fit my “cool nerd” and I perfectly, not just because of the characters, but for both of us “Family Matters” is a bigger than life statement. We are both very family oriented and hold high value in our family life.
Have fun and let loose during your photo shoot, let your personalities shine through and enjoy this moment. Don’t get so caught up in preparation that focus is lost and you don’t live in the moment. Absorb these memories as these times will come and go quickly. With all this preparation I know when our wedding day comes and goes, I’m going to look back and be glad to relive some of the experiences we shared through this process.
Your photos can be used for engagement announcements, save the dates, wedding invitations and more. Now that we have our mental juices flowing on the type of photo shoot you want to create, what about the photographer?
Its important to choose a professional photographer whose work you have seen and are comfortable with. Its also a good idea to see if they can be used on your wedding day and offer both services as a package deal. Check out past client reviews, works done and make sure you are both on the same page with the vision you want to portray with your photographs.
We chose to go with a lovely, professional, talented woman named Nicole Ashley Allen in the Metro Detroit area. (www.nicoleashleyallenstudios.com) We told her what we wanted and before we could finish she said, “I got it! I know what we’re going to do, just meet me downtown.” That is where, my dear friends, the magic began.
The magic is still going on and I’m excited to say in next month’s edition you guys will be able to hear from the man of the hour himself. We are onto the bridal party selection process and I cannot wait to discuss that with you guys. Until then Vogue my people and give life at your photo shoot!!!
